I remember in the 1980s thinking the old movies and soap operas were responsible for the downfall of the United States. it seems like doris day was in them and Jerry lewis or some other actor playing a clumsy drunk. ha ha ha. laugh out loud. they always smoked like freight trains and drank like there was no tomorrow, in the old movies. the soap operas always had plenty of alcohol and cigarettes and they had drinks throughout the day. i just couldn't understand that. I thought the United States was a mess back then and yet we've gone so much lower.
