What would be the point of hiding my quirks and eccentricities from people? First of all, I don't view what I used to call "my weird stuff" as weird. Hiding this means I would be hiding the real me from people and I find that exhausting. 

So the reason for keeping my true self private would be approval from others. As my spirit advisors said to me many years ago: "You don't need human approval to continue on your path." 

Obviously, most of us want approval from others, but in my case, the lack of acceptance from the narcs or whatevers in my life caused me to desire my freedom and fiercely protect it.

I will no longer reach for approval from others, like a toddler reaching for a grown-up's hand. Ugh!
