For Single Mothers:

As a single mother, the most empowering thing you can do for yourself and your children is to walk. Walking fosters physical, mental, emotional and sometimes even spiritual well-being.

Walking with your children at parks, waterfalls, creeks, forests, beaches and mountains is a beautiful experience and engenders a lifelong, self care practice. Walking to the shops and stores is great too.

If your children initially complain, explain to them how some people (Jesus, for example) had to walk through the desert and fast (go without food or water).

Another way I empowered my very young daughters was a weekly allowance. This gave them sovereignty over choosing their possessions without judgement from me.

In my opinion, there is nothing more powerful, than walking, that we can do for ourselves and our children. Walking is very empowering and it's completely free.

Money is also very empowering and giving money is a form of love. The word charity means love, so dust off your wallet and give your children allowance and give to the children of others who could use the love.
