What's Ingrained in the Baby Boomers

When women speak the truth about their lives, they're often labeled whiny, negative or crazy. Boomer women often feel the need to laugh and play dumb while speaking about their experiences, because they don't want to be labeled and tagged. It's also important to seem dumb, so the men will feel smarter and superior. This is where giggling comes in.

"I miss the good ol' days," some people (mostly white, boomer aged and older, men) will say. Some wish to go back to the '50s, when "people were more neighborly."

I just can't fathom those backward times, for a person of color. These days, with cameras everywhere, we can see the police officer in the school, slamming and flipping a black girl. We can see these injustices with our own eyes.

I NEVER want to go back to the "good ol' days" and I'm pretty sure a lot of other people don't either, BUT a lot of us boomer women are still giggling and laughing while discussing the devastions of our lives.
