one of the saddest movies I have ever seen is 'maudie,' about Canadian folk artist, maud lewis. 😭 I felt so bad for that poor woman, partially paralyzed with painful arthritis, doing all the paintings for practically nothing. her husband placed a low value on her artwork and had her sell it for a few dollars each, on the side of the road. winter song made me think of her, because of the animation. she lived in nova Scotia where they have long cold winters and some of her art contained snow and flowers together. I think the whitehouse (nixon) bought one of her paintings.
