I hate to brag, but imo, I have very few possessions and it's such a freeing feeling! I absolutely love it! I have 2 velvet pants (1 I wear to bed), 1 black pants, 1 levis, 1 corduroys and 1 hurley pants (that I wear to bed), about 4 or 5 graphic tees, a few plain tees, some tees are long sleeved, 2 or 3 merino wool sweaters, 2 shirt collars (1 butterfly, 1 white cat with black stitching), some skorts, 2 skirts, 4 dresses, 2 shackets, 1 zip hoodie, 1 quilted anorak (which I love!), 2 raincoats (packable) and a few warmer coats (1 packable), 1 rain pants, 1 weatherproof pants, 1 swimsuit, 1 sarong, 3 bras, a lot of cotton bikini underwear, some undershirts, 2 lace tops and 1 fancy black pants. I have too many shoes and coats and need to donate some. most shoes are rubber, because I live in a rainforest and hate wet leather, canvas suede, etc.
I have way too many clothes and other possessions to call myself a minimalist, according to the board of minimalism or whatever. I also have a home, so I cannot call myself a nomad, which sucks because I really, really want to call myself a nomad. 🤣 Just kidding, obviously! 🙄
All of that being said, I'm tired all the time, so I try to keep it simple. When I get dressed everything should go with everything or else it has to go... to the donation bin. I have no dresser, because I'm terrible at organizing drawers and closets. I do have shelves in my closet, where I keep everything in bins (until now). I removed the bins and put everything in 2 1/2 gallon hefty slider bags for easy access and for travel. I hate packing cubes, btw. 🙄
If I get a wild hair and want to travel, I just pull out a few bags, throw them in another bag or two and go. I have tried everything under the sun (I think) to make my life more convenient and this seems to work best, so far.
