just an opinion about the un-united states:

In my opinion, what has happened in the unUnited States is similar to what happens to a toddler who starts bouncing off the walls when their emotional and other needs are not being met. If it continues, the child starts acting out in school and is then put on Ritalin. If the child is black, the police will sometimes be called into the school. 

This is just my opinion, I did not have any of these experiences with my kids. However, when my oldest daughter was a toddler, she did start bouncing off the walls when I went through my divorce. I sensed that she needed more affection and attention, because I was more focused on her baby sister, so I chose to hold her more. I also began taking them to the parks and up the gorge for walks. 

I'm sure Ritalin helps a lot of kids, but stimulants don't do the trick for me, personally. I was diagnosed with asthma in California in the late 90s and the inhaler made me feel grouchy, so I threw it in the trash, because I didn't want that for my kids. Each night I prayed for healing for hours and eventually I was able to breathe normally.
