Preemptive Decluttering Hack

Clutterers Anonymous

I guess it's tempting, but do not take the miniature shampoos, soaps, lotions, lubricants or whatever else you find in hotel bathrooms. Collecting all the bath and beauty items from your travels is just adding to the chaos that is your mind, if you're a hoarder. It's not something I would ever use, but I've been offered these items by a number of people. Just because I'm a nomad and love camping doesn't mean I want those items. I guess you can drop them off at a shelter, but after volunteering at Share House, I noticed they had tons of that stuff. Nobody seems to want it. If you ARE a hoarder, I know it's tough and maybe impossible to change, but you can start by not grabbing at every free thing, everywhere you go. You're the reason hotel rooms no longer have refrigerators and microwaves. The hotel staff get tired of cleaning out all the "free" food you've taken from the breakfast room. The hotel actually pays a lot of money for all that free food that's forgotten and left behind by hoarding types. I was friends with a hoarder for a while and everything she could get her hands on would disappear into her huge purse. If there was a sign with the phrase, free- take one, she would take ten. I went to a new years eve celebration with her and she took multiples of anything she could find.
