well, it turned out to be a curtain so I cut up an Ilana card and used the pieces to push the "fabric" through the window cracks to hold it in place. that's an old car camping trick I picked up on the interwebs. I did a horrible job putting it up, but I'm too tired to fix it. I can see that they power washed off the water spots, because that is now the cleanest area.
